In his latest post to our VA-NC Medical Surgery Malpractice Blog, my colleague John Cooper reports that a federal appeals court has upheld a $29 million medical negligence verdict for a family whose newborn son developed cerebral palsy after having a blood infection mistreated at a government-run health center. John notes that children with cerebral palsy often suffer from a range of mental and physical disabilities that require a lifetime of intensive, expensive medical treatment.
